About Toronto Select
Toronto Select is an independent guide that researches Toronto businesses before listing them, from the downtown core to the 905.
Toronto has more businesses than anyone could vet alone, and a search for something as ordinary as a contractor returns pages of ads and lookalike listings. Toronto Select does the research first and publishes only what survives it.
What we research
Divorce and litigation lawyers, career counsellors, contractors for old houses and new condos, nutritionists, tile shops, dog groomers, Thai restaurants and much more. Fresh research is published every week.
Why research matters here
A Victorian semi in Cabbagetown and a condo in Liberty Village need different trades, and a lawyer who mostly handles real estate is not the one you want in family court. We check that each business actually does the work you’re looking for.
Who reads it
Torontonians tired of guesswork, newcomers who arrived at Pearson last month and are setting up a whole life at once, and commuters from the 905 who want something done near the office.
Funding and independence
There is no advertising on Toronto Select. Businesses cannot pay to enter a list; one that is already on it can pay for Pro or Top, which shows a label, and the research order of everyone else stays the same.
