Terms of use
Terms of use for Toronto Select: the informational nature of the lists, how research is done, listings and paid plans, permitted use and liability.
Application
These terms apply to all use of Toronto Select (torontoselect.com), a free researched guide to Toronto businesses. Continuing to use the site signals your agreement.
Informational nature
Our lists support your own decision. They are not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice, and they don’t warrant the quality, price or fitness of any business’s offer. Contracts are made directly between you and the business.
How the research is done
Lists draw on public information (average rating, review volume, business category, address, phone, hours and photos) and on our editorial assessment. Ratings are supplied by third parties and evolve.
Currency of information
We revisit lists regularly, yet details can change in the meantime. Confirm before you travel or sign.
Listings, claims and paid plans
Owners may claim a listing without charge in “For businesses” and maintain its details. Pro and Top are optional Stripe subscriptions; pricing and renewal terms appear before you pay. Top positions are labelled. We may amend or reverse owner submissions that are inaccurate or breach these terms.
Permitted use
You may not use the site unlawfully, extract its content systematically, attempt to breach restricted areas, misrepresent your identity or submit false information.
Intellectual property
Text, research, list composition and order, design and the Toronto Select name are owned by us or used under licence. Brief quotations with a link are fine; reproduction of substantial portions needs prior permission.
Limitation and changes
We take care over accuracy without being able to promise it in every case, and we accept no responsibility for listed businesses’ products or services. These terms do not limit rights you have under Ontario consumer protection law or any other law that applies to you. They may be revised, and the posted version governs.
