Privacy policy

How Toronto Select follows PIPEDA’s fair information principles, from the data it gathers and its reasons to cookies, providers and your access rights.

Accountability

Toronto Select (torontoselect.com) is responsible for the personal information it holds and follows the fair information principles of PIPEDA, the federal law covering private-sector organizations in Ontario. Privacy questions go to info@torontoselect.com.

Identifying purposes and limiting collection

We collect only what these purposes need: technical request logs (IP address, browser, page) to secure and debug the site; your email and message when you contact us; and, for business owners, the account email, listing edits and Stripe billing records for Pro or Top.

Consent

You consent to the collection described here by using the site, writing to us or opening a business account. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by asking us to close your account or delete your correspondence.

Use, disclosure and retention

We use information only for the purposes above and never sell or rent it. Logs are kept for a short time and correspondence while it remains useful; accounts are kept until closed, and billing records are kept for the six years Canadian tax law generally requires.

No advertising, minimal cookies

No ads and no AdSense. Visits are measured by Cloudflare Web Analytics without cookies. The business area sets one session cookie to keep you signed in, and Cloudflare Turnstile checks form submissions against automated spam. We don’t send marketing email.

Safeguards and service providers

We work with Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the site, measures traffic and carries our email; with Stripe, which processes card payments without card numbers reaching us; and with OpenFreeMap, which supplies map tiles. Some process data in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under American law.

Access and accuracy

On request we will show you what personal information of yours we keep, and correct or remove it. We respond within the 30 days PIPEDA allows.

Challenging compliance

Raise any concern with us first. Should our answer fall short, a complaint can be filed with the federal Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Updates

This policy changes when our practices or the law do; the version shown here is in effect.
